The Seiko Lord Matic, which was introduced in 1968 and remained in production until the late 1970s, succeeded the Seiko Lord Marvel line. It represented a significant advancement in automatic watchmaking with its sophisticated movement and improved case design and finishing quality. Positioned as a mid-tier offering for the working middle class of that era, the Seiko LM made its debut in July 1968. Initially, the LM models didn't feature the LM logo on the dial, but from late 1969 onwards, they included the LM logo, although its inclusion varied over the years.
