The 4842-5010 watch, also known as QNJ604, originally cost ¥75,000, which made it cheaper than most of the Grand Seiko range. Part of the reason was that this was one of the very few as a more entry level Grand Quartz, it was still more than three times the price of an automatic chronograph, so it was not a cheap watch to buy back in 1977.
The Grand Quartz were the shining stars of the Seiko range (now rebranded Grand Seiko), and featured the highest quality components and finish of anything that left the Suwa factory. The dial is original and excellent, the signed crown is also original, featuring the crystal logo also used on the dial.
