A unique and undervalued artifact from the great Jack Heuer era! The Heuer Temporada, reference 733.809- was Heuer's answer to creating an affordable yet high-quality chronograph during the early 1970s. It is instantly recognizable by its groundbreaking black composite case (often plastic or fiberglass) paired with a stainless steel bezel and caseback- an early experiment in materials that predates the modern use of carbon and polymer in watches. This makes it a rare technical curiosity!
The heart of this watch is the robust Valjoux Caliber 7733, a 17-Jewel manual-wind chronograph movement that powered countless prestigious chronographs of the era. The single-pushers and bi-compax (two-register) layout deliver the pure- unadulterated pleasure of engaging a mechanical stopwatch. This caliber is a reliable workhorse and a staple of vintage collecting.
Aesthetically- this is a phenomenal "Reverse Panda" style dial, featuring a striking silver base with the two sub-registers and a minute track in bold blue and orange accents. This high-contrast- colorful design screams 1970s motorsport racing and gives the watch an incredible, aggressive visual punch. The caseback engraving confirms its robust qualities- proving it was built as a serious tool watch.
